October 22, 2008 - Farr Rates Perfect on Civil Rights
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Sam Farr (D-Carmel) has received a 100 percent vote rating from the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights.
The organization selected 23 votes during the 110th Congress, which spanned 2007 and 2008, to rate members of the House of Representatives. Rep. Farr's vote on each piece of legislation supported the priorities of LCCR.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Mexican guest-workers who labored in the United States in the 1940s -- known as braceros -- will soon be able to apply for money withheld from their paychecks but not given to them by the Mexican government.
October 10, 2008 - Farr, NEA Chairman to Announce Grant
WASHINGTON, D.C. - On Saturday, Congressman Sam Farr (D-Carmel) will join Dana Gioia, chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts, in Monterey to announce a $10,000 NEA grant for Arts Habitat, a local nonprofit arts organization.
"I appreciate the efforts of Arts Habitat to support the local art community, and I am especially excited for their Houses Art program," Rep. Farr said. "Using artistic expression to engage youth who are aging out of the foster care system is a wonderful way to promote involvement and understanding with the wider community. I think it's a great program."
October 10, 2008 - Millions Unclaimed in Stimulus Rebates
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Nearly $3 million in economic stimulus rebate checks have gone unclaimed by Central Coast residents -- and the deadline to file is October 15. Nearly 10,000 on the Central Coast have failed to file a tax return for 2007, the step necessary to receive their rebate checks.
